A few middle school wrestling team wrestlers took on 4 exhibition matches against the CAJ Knights. 6th grader, Jun Young Moon, dominated his opponent with big head locks, double legs, and chest wrap throws. Jun Young wrestles at a Japanese club off season, and his extra dedication is paying off, completely shutting out his opponent on Saturday. First year wrestler, Kenzo Stevens, wrestled a competitive match. Although being scored on, he never stopped wrestling and continued to be on offence. In the end, he caught his opponent on his back to win with a pin. Champion from the December tournament, Ryusei Kobayashi showed exactly why he earned his gold medal. Ryusei stayed aggressive and determined throughout the match to overwhelm his opponent . 7th grader, Jiei Kawamatsu finally got the win he deserved. Jiei has been showing up for option practices with the high school since December. His dedication has certainly been note worthy this season. On Saturday, after scoring a take down, he put on an outside cradle that he has been working on to secure his match with a pin. The middle school team goes to ASIJ on Jan. 27th for their last tournament action.
